APRIL 23rd 2023 Open Shoot
Dear Archers
What a wonderful day we had on Sunday at our Open Shoot.
We hosted almost 200 archers (only 1 no show) who all seemed to enjoy our course .
I just wanted to thank all of you for your hard work which made yesterday's Open Shoot such a success.
Everyone who helped, made the day for the archers attending.
We really have a great team at Duvelle, lots of you have helped for years and have your specific roles well rehearsed and make life easy for me being able to rely on your skills.
This year we had a new team of course layers for pond wood Nany, Daryll, Mark and Lynne, who had their first go at course laying and what a good job they did!
Coupled with Paul and Jules well proven skills we have a superb 40 target course for us to shoot this year.
It all starts in the car park where Pete and his family get everyone parked up.
Barry and Stu, helped by our first try at Prepay, got the queue down super quick.
The shooting actually started at exactly 10:30
What can I say about Catering, superb as usual and those cakes, I am still dreaming of another slice of Andrews Guinness cake!
Carol spent the day over a hot barbeque after taking all the entries and making up the shoot list.
Elenore led the rest of the team to what may be a record in catering profits.
I am not going to name any more names in fear of missing anyone out because you all played a huge part in the success of the day.
It makes me feel very proud to be chairman of a lovely group of people.
We will do it all again again in October, hopefully without any rain???
Regards Lewis
Most of all I should like to thank the archers who attended who made our day such a success and we look forward to seeing you all again later in the year.
