APRIL 19th 2016 Shoot
202 Archers arrived on a perfect Spring morning for our spring Open shoot on April 17th.
The bluebells even put in an early appearance to make our wood at Meynell Langley look even more stunning.
Our course layers had 40 targets set out, with some very good and challenging shots.
The long elephant was a new specially printed face by Dan which really tested archers distance judging.
Carol and Jim assisted by Eleanor were busy the whole day on catering selling virtually out by the end of the day.
My thanks to all the course layers and all the club members who marshalled and assisted on the day.
Our next shoot on October 23rd will be a Memorial shoot in remembrance of one of our founder members, Dan Doxey.

October 16th 2016 Shoot
Dear Members
140 Archers enjoyed the shoot in our woods, the furthest competitors coming from as far as London and Wiltshire!
My thanks to everyone who helped to make this such a success, to all those who helped on the day and those
that helped in setting up before the shoot.
Jim also managed to help with breakfasts before returning home to support Suzanne (my daughter) who is now 4
days overdue with her third baby.
Breaking News: Welcome to Elsie May Grieveson-Chuck
It was really good that Maureen Doxey was able to come and present the prizes assisted by her two
Granddaughters.
I don't want to single out anyone in particular but as always our secretary Carol did an outstanding
job taking all the bookings (and cancellations), making up the target list and filling all the score cards
beforehand and then spending all day on catering!
Also it was really good to see our new members that have joined this year taking such an active part in the
setting up and marshalling, also helping on catering.
Lastly Mick (Boomer) who has been my right hand man supporting me and working together to tie everything
together.
I have worked out that team Duvelle has put somewhere near to 40 Open Shoots on for NFAS members over a
period of 21 years (we had our first shoot in spring 1995).
Once again, well done and thank you.
